The project in short
We modernised a stockbroking firm's client onboarding application in Laravel. Clients sign in with an OTP and complete guided KYC sections, nomination, documents and a recorded video IPV. Staff review the same application record, correct sections, generate a KYC PDF and send it for e-signature. Account closure requests run through the same platform.
The challenge
A specialist workflow needs a connected workspace
For a stockbroker, opening a client account means collecting a complete application: personal and address details, bank information, market segments, regulatory declarations, nomination, documents and in-person verification. Every piece has to stay with the right application so a reviewer can assess it.
The firm's onboarding ran on an older CodeIgniter application. The project moved it to Laravel while keeping its domain-specific forms and back-office operations. The core record is a client application, not a sales opportunity, so a generic CRM was never the right fit.
What the system had to handle
- 01
Collect a complete application
Personal and address details have to connect with bank information, segments, declarations and nomination.
- 02
Keep evidence together
Documents, signature images and recorded IPV stay linked to the right application for staff review.
- 03
Coordinate the next action
Reviewers need clear status, section-level corrections, PDF preparation and the e-sign handoff.
- 04
Handle service requests
Account closure requests need OTP confirmation and supporting evidence, in the same system.
The workflow
From first entry to staff review
The client journey and the internal review workspace share the same application record.
- 01
Register or sign in
OTP-based client access.
- 02
Complete KYC details
Personal, address, bank, segments, regulatory and disclosures.
- 03
Nomination and documents
Nominees, guardian details and supporting files.
- 04
Record video IPV
In-person verification recorded and linked to the application.
- 05
Review and prepare signing
Staff review, KYC PDF and e-sign dispatch.
Sending for signature is a staff action, and third-party services need to be configured for each deployment.
Client experience
Structure for the client, context for the reviewer
Domain-specific intake brings every part of the application into one guided experience, section by section.
- Separate sections for personal details, addresses, bank details, segment choices, regulatory information and disclosures
- Nomination with allocations, identification attachments and guardian details for minor nominees
- PAN, identity and address documents, signatures and video IPV collected alongside the application
- Field validation that helps clients submit a structured application

- Open the linked sections, documents and IPV recording from one place
- Correct individual sections and manage the internal application status
- Generate a KYC PDF and dispatch it for signature through the Leegality integration, subject to provider setup

What is video IPV in stockbroker onboarding?
In-person verification (IPV) confirms that the applicant is who they say they are. In this platform the client records a video that is linked to their application, with location data when available, and a staff member reviews it. There is no automated face matching or identity decision.
Does the platform open demat accounts or connect to KRAs?
No. This implementation covers client intake, documents, IPV, staff review, the KYC PDF and the e-sign handoff. Depository or KRA integrations would be scoped separately.
Can you modernise our existing onboarding application?
Yes. This project moved a CodeIgniter-era onboarding workflow into Laravel while keeping its domain-specific forms and back-office operations. We start by mapping what your current application does before anything is rebuilt.
Which e-sign provider does it use?
This project integrates with Leegality for signature dispatch, subject to provider setup. Another provider can be scoped for a new project.
Is this a ready-made KYC product?
No. It is custom software built around this firm's forms, review roles and integrations. Each new engagement is scoped separately, with no subscription.
